As reported by the Public Relations Department of Esfahan Provincial Governorship, Mr. Hamedanian in a meeting with Mr. Fu Lang pointed to the high potentials of Esfahan in industry and tourism and said, "Signing this memorandum of understanding paves the way for cultural exchanges between the two provinces."
Stating that Guangdong province is one of the industrial provinces of China, Mr. Hamedanian said, "The commercial and industrial position of this province is of high importance and it paves the ground for commercial and industrial exchanges between the two provinces."
Mr. Hamedanian referred to the agreements in the memorandum of understanding and said, "Based on this MOU the two provinces will cooperate in the fields of trade and investment, tourism, culture, art and education and will try to increase mutual understanding and friendship and expand cooperation and cultural and commercial exchanges."
Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Guangdong Province of China referred to the touristic attractions and historical monuments of Esfahan province and said, "The people of Guangdong province are not so familiar with Iranian people and culture and this MOU is the best opportunity for our people to become familiar with culture and people of Esfahan."
Stating that Guangdong is one of the developed provinces in tourism industry Mr. Fu Lang said, "Esfahan should introduce its historical monuments, handicrafts and culture to our people with taking part in cultural exhibitions of Guangdong province."
He called for increase of cultural exchanges through tourism industry and familiarization of people of Guangdong with Iranian culture and added, "Besides cultural exchanges, both provinces can have cooperation in the fields of industry, trade and investment."
Mr. Nikaeen, Director General of Protocol Department in this meeting said, "After signing this MOU, Esfahan is ready to have cooperation with Guangdong tour operators."
He also asserted that by the increase of cooperation between the two provinces in the field of tourist exchange, they could also have cooperation in other fields of tourism.
"Tourism is a bridge between the two provinces and will pave the ground for more activities" he said and added, "Esfahan is ready to host Chinese tourists and show different potentials of this city in the field of tourism to them."
He called for holding cultural week of Esfahan in one of the great exhibitions of Guangdong Province and added, "This will lead to the Chinese people's further understanding of Iranian culture and create positive viewpoints about Iran and Esfahan."
